OPTIMIZATION OF FLUID VOLUME CONTROL IN HEMODIALYSIS USING FEDERATED LEARNING

Overhydration (OH) represents a significant challenge for hemodialysis patients, significantly affecting the outcomes of their treatment. Accurate prediction and management of overhydration are key to optimizing therapy and improving patients' quality of life. The aim of this paper is to present a federated learning (FL)-based approach designed to predict overhydration in hemodialysis patients, using a dataset comprising different clinical and bioimpedance parameters. Federated learning enables collaborative learning from multiple data sources while preserving the privacy and security of individual patient data. Research results show that federated learning has the potential as an effective tool for predictive modeling in clinical settings. The developed models achieve high performance in overhydration estimation, with metrics confirming their accuracy and reliability. The proposed approach achieved a R² of 0.9999999, a MAE of 0.00018 and an MSE of 0.0031, demonstrating its predictive strength and practical applicability. This study highlights the advantages of federated learning in using distributed data to advance predictive capabilities in healthcare. By overcoming challenges related to privacy and data security, the approach presented in this paper opens up opportunities for more personalized and accurate prognoses, potentially improving decision-making and patient care in hemodialysis.

APPLICATION OF COMPRESSIVE SENSING TECHNIQUES FOR ADVANCED IMAGE PROCESSING AND DIGITAL IMAGE TRANSMISSION

The field of compressive sensing (CS) has emerged as a transformative approach in the acquisition and processing of high-dimensional data. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the application of compressive sensing techniques to advanced image processing and digital image transmission. By leveraging the inherent sparsity in natural images, CS allows for significant reductions in the amount of data required for accurate reconstruction, thereby overcoming the limitations imposed by the traditional Shannon-Nyquist sampling theorem. We explore the theoretical foundations of CS, including the principles of sparsity and incoherence, and provide a detailed overview of the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm, a prominent greedy algorithm used for sparse signal recovery. Experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of CS in improving image reconstruction quality, as evidenced by enhancements in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index (SSIM). Additionally, we discuss the practical implementation of CS in single-pixel cameras and its potential impact on future imaging technologies. The findings suggest that CS offers a robust framework for efficient image acquisition and processing, making it a valuable tool for various applications in multimedia, medical imaging, and remote sensing.

SPATIAL CHARACTERIZATION OF TELECOMMUNICATION SATELLITES VISIBLE ABOVE THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

This paper deals with the general technical, spatial, and temporal characteristics of satellite telecommunications systems. Particular attention was paid to the peculiarities of the territory of the Republic of Serbia in terms of implementation and use of modern satellite telecommunication infrastructure. The overview shows how and on which way to use various satellite telecommunication systems to configure and exploit next-generation networks, especially modern communications such as 5G technology and IoT. Their work cannot be imagined without the high speeds and high frequencies that allow us to transmit a wealth of information - from short messages/news to HD video on a mobile phone. We need either a base station network or in the case of the high seas or areas where the base station system is difficult to imagine, we need satellite communication. The paper presents data that give a numerical and graphical overview of geostationary satellites visible from the territory of the city of Belgrade, depending on the orbital position and the associated angle of azimuth and elevation, which would also be valid for the leading territory of Serbia.
